OpusCapita joins forces with jCatalog
OpusCapita has taken an important step towards becoming a leader in the global buyer-supplier ecosystem and has acquired Germany-based company jCatalog Software AG. The privately-held jCatalog is a leading provider of software and SaaS solutions for procurement and product information management, and distribution of product information.
jCatalog’s solutions in the areas of eCommerce, master data management, procurement process and supplier management will complement OpusCapita’s extended purchase-to-pay offering, which includes invoice automation, cash management, financing and connectivity, and will also expand its geographical reach.
“Adding jCatalog’s solutions and expertise to OpusCapita’s offering supports our aim to facilitate corporate buying and paying across the world in the evolving business ecosystem. We are very excited about the advanced capabilities that jCatalog can provide for OpusCapita’s customers and we welcome the jCatalog employees to OpusCapita,” says Patrik Sallner, CEO of OpusCapita.
According to Stephan Albers, CEO and co-founder of jCatalog, OpusCapita offers an ideal home for jCatalog.
“It is clear that the two companies are a very good fit for each other – both from the offering perspective and from the cultural and regional perspectives. We are looking forward to joining forces with OpusCapita as together we will be able to greatly improve the whole process chain from sourcing to paying, all the way from the first request for proposals issued by the buyers to the point where the cash related to the trade has been managed and working capital optimized,” Albers says.
Working with both sides of corporate trade
jCatalog serves over 250 customers in Europe and in the USA, including large global companies such as Liebherr, Rossman, IBM, Audi, Schindler and Maersk. The company is headquartered in Dortmund and has some 130 professionals. Gartner positioned jCatalog as a Visionary in the Magic Quadrant for Procure-to-Pay Suites for Indirect Procurement in 2015.
“OpusCapita has unique experience in working with both sides of corporate trade, both with the P2P and the O2C processes, and it has been leading the way in the Nordics with its electronic invoicing network. jCatalog’s solutions for product information and master date management deliver product content, which increases user acceptance and allows further optimization of automated processes. All this opens up interesting possibilities, and together we can truly see the whole picture of buyer-supplier connections in the supply chains.”
Stephan Albers will head OpusCapita’s Buyer-Supplier Ecosystem Products unit and he will also be a member of the Group’s Leadership Team.
“The efficiency of production processes in various industries has improved massively over the last decades. When it comes to business processes, the development has been more moderate. I’m inspired by looking at the future opportunities of taking these processes to a whole new level and helping both jCatalog’s and OpusCapita’s customers to gain the full benefits of digitalization,” Albers states.
