Source-to-Pay, 2020, Leadership and Real-World Changemakers

by Point-of-View, OpusCapita, Source-to-Pay, E-procurement

Few things are as interesting as a good story and all good stories have a protagonist. That’s why over the past few months we made it our mission to find those people closest to us who fit the description of a real-world changemaker! In the first half of 2020, during a time when Covid-19 was creating a new normal, we interviewed 3 Changemakers in 3 webinars and before we go on our holidays, we wanted to remind you of some of the highlights in case you missed any of the interviews.

S2P 2020 Leadership and Real-World Changemakers

Our first changemaker was Miia Lönnqvist and what a great place to start that was. Miia is a Sourcing and e-procurement specialist with over 2 decades of experience. She has negotiated multi-million euro service contracts, has created not only category strategies but the frameworks that produce them and has been a critical advisor to our own e-procurement and source-to-pay customers.

You can find the full interview here.

There were many interesting takeaways from the interview but one thing that should be highlighted was Miia’s perspective on life and the job she was doing and the simplest things is to quote her directly. "In procurement and so many other areas of life, you can only reduce the complexity so much. The key is to own the complexity or it will own you." Miia Lönnqvist, procurement changemaker.

Our next interview was with Jesper Ritsmer Stormholt, the Head of Sales & Marketing for OpusCapita. We knew Jesper wasn’t a career procurement professional but we also know that being a changemaker is more about people than processes - and with Jesper’s leadership experience in many organisations (including 8 years at Google), we knew he would be a really interesting person to interview.

In fact, Jesper did not disappoint and brought with him highly interesting and personal anecdotes describing cultural change, conflict resolution and self-management.

You can find the interview with Jesper here.

It’s possible we saved the best for last (impossible to say). Our final interview was with Yaron Nadbornik, the CPO for Sato Oy. Yaron has been a webinar guest many times but we’ve never really delved into his personal management style, his perspectives on leadership or his reflections of his own performance - this interview accomplished all of the above.

If you haven’t seen the interview, you can find it here.

Miia, Jesper and Yaron are without a doubt changemakers. Like any good leader, they exhibit combinations of knowledge and behavior which both help them and drive those who work with them towards common goals.

If you know a changemaker you would like us to interview, just let us know and we will see what we can do.

If you missed it - check out the Source-to-Pay Sofa Summit. It was a virtual event June 15-17 with 11 speakers and 16 sessions all packed into 6 hours (2 hours each day).
