Meet the OpusCapitans - Sampada Chakraborty
In this series, we introduce OpusCapita employees, this time Sampada Chakraborty, a trainee from Hanken & SSE Integration Business Lead program. Sampada will work with our product management and marketing on various interesting projects.
How did you find the traineeship with OpusCapita?
I have been living in Finland for a couple of years, settling my family and learning Finnish. Because I have an academic background I was admitted to the Business Lead program in 2019. We have learned about the Finnish and European business landscape, organizational culture, strategic leadership, finance, and sales & service mindset.
A traineeship is part of the program, and I was offered an opportunity to work for OpusCapita for 3 months. I asked to be a member of a team where I can contribute to projects, and learn by doing in close cooperation with other colleagues. This way I can get the full experience of the work culture in the company.
What were your first impressions of OpusCapita?
The first person I met, was Head of HR, Sari Mononen. I was a bit nervous when I came here the first time, but when Sari came to meet me downstairs with a big smile, I felt immediately comfortable. She made sure I was all settled in during the first couple of days, and now I feel really good, knowing where to go and where to find everything I need in my work.
Other employees have been accommodating as well. People here are not afraid of small talk, everybody is stopping to say hello and getting to know you. People seem to have a positive attitude and interest in getting things done. I feel I can really make a difference here with these colleagues!
What do you think about our office?
It's very nice, there's a cool atmosphere here. There are different working environments here, suitable for meetings, focused work or just relaxing with colleagues. I also enjoy that we're on the 5th floor and have nice views from the windows to Helsinki Central park and the railway. Today, even the sun is shining.
I like the cafeteria. As I'm a vegetarian, I'm happy to find vegetarian food here is well made and tasty. And there's also the salad buffet you can choose from.
What kind of expectations do you have on your traineeship here?
My goal for this traineeship is to gather new skills, especially in communications and networking. OpusCapita seems to be an innovative and forward-thinking company, and I would be interested in working for the company in the long run.
